Below is an image and text from the interview Andy did with Soul & Spirit magazine.

Below is the text from the article above.

The man gently lay his hands on the woman’s stomach. As he took a deep breath, he saw a secon pair of male hands stretch forward from his own, plunging through the woman’s clothing and disappearing inside her body. The hands rummaged around, making a cutting motion, then the stomach was bathed in bright light. Immediately after the procedure, the woman claimed that her chronic stomach pain had disappeared.
Psychic surgery claims to be a process where a spirit guide uses the physical body of a human to channel their healing energy into the patient.
While the psychic surgeon lays their hands on the body, the spirit guide is said to reach inside to find, treat, and remove injuries and diseases — the same way that a traditional surgeon would use a scalpel or antibiotics.
Except there is no physical cutting, and no nasty scars or long recovery times afterwards.
There are people who claim psychic surgery is a con, and that the patients are merely thinking themselves well, rather than actually being cured.
In the Philippines, one of the first places where psychic surgery was documented, so-called psychic surgeons were often exposed as shysters, using clever sleight of hand to pass off animal parts as tumours, and diseased organs.
But there are many people in the UK who swear by the work of psychic surgeons, and say that the results of legitimate practitioners can’t be explained away by parlour tricks, or the placebo effect.
Part-time psychic surgeon Andy Porter doesn’t mind that many of his clients are openly sceptical of psychic surgery when they first come to see him. He knows that most of his clients come to him because they have exhausted all traditional medical routes, and that they don’t really expect to see any results.
He’s the first to agree that his work sounds like something out of a science fiction movie — that a guide from the spirit realm takes over his physical body in order to carry out supernatural surgeries. And he freely admits that he’d have difficulty believing it too, if he hadn’t seen it work time and time again.
Andy wasn’t always aware of his psychic gift. In fact he spent most of his life completely sceptical of anything supernatural.
Soon after moving into a new home he began to notice some very strong events. ‘Lights would switch on and off, and strange shadows would dart around the walls,’ he explains. ‘I’d hear rattling chains, and laughter on the stairs, and my bed would even lift up.’
He did some research and discovered the brand new home had been built over an old battleground. His unwanted visitors were disgruntled spirits who, centuries later, still hadn’t moved on.
He arranged for the house to be cleared of all the malevolent entities, and immediately the strange noises and occurrences stopped. ‘You picked up the activity because you have natural psychic ability,’ the woman told him. The house was peaceful now, but now held so many bad memories that Andy sold up and moved on.
The experience did have one positive outcome though. Andy’s interest in the supernatural had been ignited and he decided to develop the psychic gift he’d been told he had.
He began reading everything he could about the supernatural. Then he joined a psychic circle, where he began to gravitate towards Reiki and healing.
It was during this time that a spirit guide named Chen came forward. ‘He explained that he wanted to work with me to conduct psychic surgeries,’ Andy remembers.
Chen explained that he would enter Andy’s body while he was in a meditative trance, and channel his healing energy through Andy’s own hands to carry out the procedures. Chen told him that he would be able to detect any ailments, and remove them — like a traditional surgeon removes diseased areas with a scalpel.
He wasn’t able to tell Andy exactly how it worked, explaining that the healing comes from a dimension we don’t yet understand, but said it was based on vibrations. Sometimes it also involved ridding negative entities that had attached themselves to the person, and were causing mental and emotional health problems.
Andy admits that the first few times Chen channelled through him were quite frightening. ‘I would completely lose control of my body as Chen took over,’ he remembers.
Slowly he got used to the process, and learned to trust his spirit guide.
His first patient was his wife Jayne, who had a lesion on her leg. When Andy lay his hands on her, an image filled his head of the growth being cut out. Jayne felt a pulling sensation, and a sharp stab of pain. After a few sessions the lesion began to shrink, and after six months it had completely gone.
‘Jane was amazed,’ Andy says. ‘She didn’t actually expect it to work.’
It’s an opinion mirrored by most of Andy’s clients.
‘People come to me as a last resort, when they’ve exhausted all traditional medical options,’ Andy says. ‘They don’t actually believe the psychic surgery will work, but they’re desperate, and willing to try anything.’
He doesn’t get offended by their scepticism. ‘I used to think exactly the same way,’ he says.
For three years Andy worked as an IT consultant during the day, and honed his healing skills by practicing on friends and family. He had fantastic success with everything from persistent headaches, to chronic back pain. He would see Chen’s spirit hands descend from his own, and lower inside the client. Then he would receive images of the treatment being carried out. He would see growths being cut out, and incisions being stitched back up. One time he saw the person’s intestines being uncoiled, and bathed in pink coloured light. Another time he visualised the person’s blood being cleansed through a filter, before being replaced.
Not everyone felt completely ‘cured’ afterwards, but all admitted that their symptoms and ailments had greatly improved.
Since then he has helped with a myriad of physical and emotional problems — or rather Chen has. Andy freely admits he is just a tool used by his spirit guide. Often his possession is so complete he even won’t remember the session afterwards.
Clients often describe feeling intense heat, then unseen hands actually moving inside them.
It’s not uncommon for Chen to speak directly to the client during the session. He will explain what he has found, and how he is trying to heal them, and ways they can also help themselves once they get home.
Andy hopes that psychic surgery will one day be accepted as a legitimate form of treatment. Maybe then he and Chen will be the first port of call, rather than the last resort.

Catherine Young, 45, of Bristol, turned to psychic surgery in desperation.

After several stomach surgeries I’d been left with internal scarring. When I began to suffer from excruciating pain the doctors told me that my bowel had actually attached itself to my scar tissue, and become twisted. ‘What can you do to prevent it from happening again?’ I asked. ‘Nothing,’ they shrugged. ‘We can only treat you after it does.’
Basically I had to live with the terrible pain every time my bowel began to reattach itself to the scar tissue. They prescribed me some painkillers, but I didn’t want to live lie that — in and out of hospital, popping pills constantly to try and dull the pain.
After two and a half years I’d had enough. Late last year I started trawling the internet looking for anything that might be able to help me.
When I came across Andy’s website I didn’t know anything about psychic surgery, but I was desperate, and ready to try anything. As a hypnotherapist, I was open minded about alternative and holistic treatments. I had now idea if it would work, but I figured I had nothing to lose by making an appointment.
Andy explained that he would gently lay his hands on my stomach, but that his spirit guide would actually be working through him to heal me.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, and was a bit nervous at first.
When Andy hands rested on my stomach, and I felt heat radiating down from his palms. I immediately noticed a change in him. He stood up straighter, and his mannerisms changed. As he began to explain what he was doing, I noticed that while the voice was Andy’s, but the way he spoke had completely changed. I realised I was now speaking to his spirit guide Chen.
I felt a strange tugging feeling inside my stomach. When I told Chen I was feeling a bit of discomfort, I then felt a sensation, like cool liquid, pouring through my body, and the pain disappeared. It was like he had administered a spiritual anaesthetic.
I didn’t feel a difference right away, but afterwards I slept for practically three days. A few weeks later I realised my pain had lessened. I felt better than I had in years, and I knew it was because of the psychic surgery.
I know some people say it’s just as a placebo effect, and that I’d imagined myself better. But I hadn’t even expected the surgery to work, so I knew that wasn’t true. And the results were too dramatic to put down to mind over matter.
I started going for sessions every 6 weeks, every time the pain started to return. Since I started seeing Andy and Chen I’ve only been back in hospital once.
I don’t understand exactly how and why psychic surgery works, but I don’t think that matters. I feel better, and my quality of life has improved dramatically, and that’s all that counts.

Jill* (name changed)
I’d seen television programmes about psychic surgery, but I never imagined that one day I would actually undergo it myself.
I’d been having a tough time emotionally. I was suffering from terrible insomnia, and just couldn’t seem to pull myself out of my slump. I’d tried all sorts of natural therapies from reiki to shamanic medicine, but nothing had worked.
One day a friend and I were ta.lking about possession. ‘Do you think I have any entities attached to me?’ I asked, and to my dismay, he nodded.
‘I sensed them as soon as you walked through the door,’ he admitted.
He recommended that I get in touch with a friend of his, Andy Porter.
Almost immediately after speaking to Andy on the phone, I felt better. My thoughts were clearer and calmer, and I felt more energised. It was like all the negative energy surrounding me was finally clearing.
Through Andy, Chen explained how emotional trauma can make you vulnerable to unwanted entities, who attach themselves while your defences are low. He also advised me on ways to continue to improve my emotional health, like going travelling, to boost my confidence. It was reassuring, and made me feel like I was gaining control back over my life. Now I make an appointment with Andy every time I feel life getting on top of me again. He and Chen soon have me feeling like myself again.
